I always wanted the phoon to have 6 missile slots, remove the turret bonus and give it a target painter bonus.

Originally by: Jaina Proudmoar Split weapon systems suck.
Give the phoon 5% ROF and Damage to Missiles, large ACs and an additional 5% damage to drones per level.
Or perhaps a drone control range or even a projectile falloff bonus.
Mmm drone control range would be a sweet bonus. Would help my sniperphoon allot. ;)

I have to respectfully disagree with you Liang. As long as you have 4mil in drones, and one of it's weapon systems maxed, and the second weapon system with all support + skills at 4, the phoon performs very well. This does not require -that- much more training than for example a Mega.
If it got a 2-3% boost through some means, I'd say it was the best BS for solo, period.
Comments: - Solo BS is dead. It isn't coming back. Also, examine the Domi. - People balance a ship around what it's "maximum" is for all of its roles, and if the Phoon "evens out" with the other BS's at 60M SP where they need 30M SP, then it's a pretty raw deal. - 4M in drones means you'll be a one trick pony (T2 heavies), but you don't have any of the versatility that the phoon is balanced around (T2 rep drones, T2 sentries, etc) - While you train Torps 5 and assorted support skills, a Mega pilot would either be finished with cap ship training or have really polished off their supports. Trust me, I know. I did it (Liang vs my main). The phoon is - that - much more SP intensive than the Mega.

Currently I am working on a sniper phoon, I posted the fit a year+ ago and am still not completed, the support skills required to make it somewhat effective is so far above any other setup for any other sniping battleship that it is probably a gross waste of time. Still after all this time, almost done. Most of my friends ofcourse have nicely fitted capitals and other insane ships that don't require X Years of training to be great at.

Now train caldari or gallente BS to lvl 4 and you can do so much more . imho a pretty good thing about it. Can fly so much else on a very decent way when you got a specced phoon.
Besides, 5/5 slot layout would be perfect
Yes 5/5 slot layour and increase the rof bonus to 7.5% for both missile and projectiles.
.. I have another solution however to make the typhoon the true ultimate do anything battleship, what if the typhoon's ROF bonuses were for small, medium, and large projectiles and for standard, rocket, assault, heavy, heavy assault, cruise and torps.
Yes thats right, what if the typhoon got the bonus for any sub capital missile or projectile weapon. What would people think of that?
I restate for completeness.
Set the Typhoon's rate of fire bonuses to work with all sub capital projectile and missile weapons.

Originally by: Gunny Fisher Why, may I ask, would you even want to try and make a sniper 'phoon. It only has 4 gun slots. missles aren't used for snipeing for a reason. Support killing is for hacs and recons, plus the scorps who fit cruises in there highs.
Ahh... you forget, the Typhoon uses three weapon systems. With its sentries and arties, has control range of 170km for the drones and a max targeting range of 182km

With what you just listed, I wouldn't even undock in a hurricane for pvp. What you just gave us is enough for some mission running and thats about the extend of it.
Please try a little better next time.
